Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is an undeniable fact that technology plays an inseparable part of modern society that influence the way people live, work and communicate. However, nowadays most of the Tv news and magazine are coming with photos and few people believe that it puts more affects on reader in contrast to words. I think there are a plethora of reasons behind this phenomenon that I will explain in the upcoming paragraphs with my own opinion.
To commence with the causes, firstly, it is
very helpful for people who are not able to read the stories because of their illiteracy, pictures helps them to understand the story of the news. Moreover, it saves time and attract spectators interest if news are accompanied with images because it enhances their imagination power and helps people to recall the information for a longer period of time in their mind.
According to my point of view , it is the best way to provide awareness regarding the current affairs for all the individuals who are either able to read news or not due to their low IQ level. Apart from that, it boasts the people creativity level. For instance, to make a story more impressive newsmaker have to apply a lots of graphic with different backgrounds and color that help them to out their hidden talent and do something exceptional.
In the summation, it is an irrefutable fact that news that are not only printed with words but also coming with picture helps people to understand easily and put long lasting impact on their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the effectiveness of pictures in news. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the mention of 'low IQ level' is an inappropriate and irrelevant generalization that does not support the argument effectively. While the position is clear, the supporting points—such as 'imagination power' and 'hidden talent'—are not fully explored or linked logically to the core argument about the effectiveness of visual communication. To reach a higher band, you should focus on more relevant, analytical arguments regarding how visuals provide immediate context or emotional impact compared to text.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward. For instance, the transition 'To commence with the causes, firstly' is redundant. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the pronoun 'it' in 'it puts more affects on reader', where the antecedent is ambiguous. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the conclusion, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by these mechanical links and minor grammatical slips, which prevents a smoother, more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'puts more affects' (should be 'has more effect'), 'boasts the people creativity' (should be 'boosts people's creativity'), and 'out their hidden talent' (should be 'bring out'). These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To improve, focus on using collocations correctly and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to avoid repetitive phrasing like 'it is an undeniable fact' or 'it is an irrefutable fact'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Tv news and magazine are coming', 'pictures helps'), incorrect verb forms ('news that are not only printed... but also coming'), and punctuation errors (the space before the comma in 'point of view ,'). While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader. You should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with accurate verb tenses and proper punctuation.
