IELTS Writing Task 2 question
News stories on TV and in newspapers are very often accompanied by pictures.
Some people say that these pictures are more effective than words.
What is your opinion about this?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modern society. Technology is advancing day by day. All people are using smartphones to grasp any knowledge or information. News stories on Tv and in newspaper are often published by photographs. many individuals say that these way is more convienent rather than words. I will discuss my opinion in the following paragraphs along with conclusion.
First and foremost, some people are not read because they have issues like litraecy. Due to this, they like pictures, since they can effectively understand whole story without wasting their time to read the content. Secondly, young individuals like visiuals instead of reading. For instance, nowadays, all people have their own smartphones. They are just scrolling on internet as well as they like digital content. Although, ther are using some apps to do study on phones. Furthermore, today`s generation is following trend like clothes, hairstyles and make-up thats the reason they like pictures rather than words.
On the other hand, many people are disable they do not see pictures. So, they just like stories for listening. With the help of listening, they easily understand the stories. For instance, The BBC ( British Broadcasting Council) revealed that, people like to listen words on their radios instead to see pictures.
In conclusion, my opinion that, all things have their own benefits. Either this is good or bad for some people. news stories on tv and in newspaper are very often accompained by pictures. So, all people have their own views to see it. but more individuals are liking to view photographs.
