Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely argued by some individuals that newspapers and tv stories both are using pictures to demonstrate their information in a effective way that assist people to understand the context rather than words.I agree with this statement to large extent.
In this modern era, folks are very workaholic and woking day and night. As a result they do not have enough time to read news word by word. News chanels and print media aware from this scenario ,thus they illustrate news by pictures. For instance, Canadains are very busy and do not read news papers but they just prefer to have a look on newspaper's front page with significant illustarations . Consequently, they get information what's happening around world.
Another major contributing factor is that in some countries some people are not only illiterate but they also deaf. So in this situation these kind of disabled people get benefit from this service.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear opinion in the introduction, saying you agree “to large extent,” and offer relevant reasons: busy people may prefer pictures, and images can help people who cannot read. However, the response addresses the task only partially. The comparison between pictures and words is not explored in enough depth, and the second reason is brief and unclear: being deaf does not by itself explain why pictures are more effective than written words. The example about Canadians is also a broad claim rather than specific support. Most importantly, the response is 97 words below the required minimum, leaving little room to develop your position, explain examples, or consider the value of words. Add a conclusion and develop each reason with clearer explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction followed by two paragraphs presenting separate reasons. Linking phrases such as “As a result,” “For instance,” and “Consequently” help show relationships between ideas, and the overall direction is understandable. However, the progression is limited because the second body paragraph ends after one sentence, and there is no concluding paragraph to bring your opinion together. Some connections are also unclear: the move from people being busy to Canadians looking at a newspaper’s front page needs a more explicit explanation. Improve cohesion by developing each paragraph around one main point, using clear references, and adding a conclusion that restates your view without simply repeating the introduction.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “illustrate,” “significant illustrations,” and “contributing factor,” and the main ideas can generally be understood. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “workaholic” for people who are busy, “aware from this scenario,” and “get information what’s happening.” Spelling errors, including “woking,” “chanels,” “Canadains,” and “illustarations,” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “disabled people,” which does not clearly identify the group you mean. Build a more reliable range by checking spelling and learning natural combinations such as “raise awareness of,” “access information,” and “visual images.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some attempts at more complex structures, including “As a result…” and “So in this situation…”. The main message is usually recoverable, but grammatical errors occur in several sentences. For example, “in a effective way that assist people” has an article error and a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they do not have enough time to read news word by word” would be clearer with an article before “news” or a more natural noun phrase. The opening sentence also lacks a space after the full stop, and punctuation around “thus” is faulty. Practise accurate articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence. More controlled complex sentences would help you express and connect your reasons clearly.
