Student answer (Band 5.5)
I am gonna say this is very interesting topic to discuss about that how news stories or newspapers can be seen differently within all the humans.
Firstly, I will agree on this topic. I believe according to the scientific research human brains have a tendency to process the images faster than the words. If you provide an incident report to two different people, an expirement where one person is just watching all the things happened through the pictures and second person is just hearing the story through words. The first person can explain more better than the latter.
Secondly, I am about to discuss the news stories on TV. Whenever we play any news channel, the reporters are always explaining about the incident and they will always have special reporter at the place of an accident. We will never see any reportertalking without any kind of pictures or videos. The main reason for that is our eyes sees anything and tells the brain, "I have processed that information". Otherwise, the words are very difficut to retain for a normal human being.
Interestingly, the newspapers have been more active with the pictures than the previous times. Previously, all the newspapers were just printing out the information and people started lacking interest, which affects the market utilization and on the economy. With the pictures, the news feels more interesting to read irrespesctive of the nature for that particular column.
Certainly, the whole news media is emphasizing on the pictures more than the words. One reason would be , It's easy to sell to the audience and secondly, it helps to teach the society for all the right conducts and misconducts of the society around the whole world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that pictures are more effective, and you give relevant reasons about faster processing, audience interest, and the role of images in news coverage. The examples about a person seeing an incident in pictures and newspapers attracting readers help address the question. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the comparison between two people is presented as an experiment, but its result and relevance are not developed with a concrete example. The discussion of pictures teaching “right conducts and misconducts” is also unclear and could be linked more directly to how images communicate news better than words. Develop each reason with a specific illustration and acknowledge briefly when written explanation may be more useful.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs on processing images, television, and newspapers, followed by a concluding statement. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Interestingly” help signal the stages of your argument. However, progression is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraphs do not always connect their ideas smoothly. The opening sentence is difficult to follow, while the final paragraph introduces reasons about selling news and teaching society without clearly drawing together the earlier points. Some references, such as “that particular column,” are not fully clear. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, then link the explanation and example explicitly; finish with a concise conclusion that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “incident report,” “reporters,” “newspapers,” and “audience,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “process the images” and “market utilization.” However, the range and control are limited, with several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems that make parts less natural or harder to understand. Examples include “agree on this topic,” “expermiment,” “reportertalking,” “difficut,” and “irrespesctive.” Phrases such as “more better” and “market utilization” are also unsuitable in context. Aim for precise, natural combinations—for example, “agree with this view,” “retain information,” and “attract readers”—and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If you provide an incident report…” and a relative clause in “the reporters are always explaining about the incident.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but control is inconsistent, and complex sentences sometimes become awkward or faulty. For example, “how news stories or newspapers can be seen differently within all the humans” has an unclear structure, and “the first person can explain more better than the latter” contains an incorrect comparative construction. There are also agreement and article problems, as in “our eyes sees” and “at the place of an accident.” Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; check subject–verb agreement, articles, and comparative forms when editing.
