Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You introduce the topic and attempt to consider both benefits and drawbacks, but the response does not clearly answer whether pictures are more effective than words. The opening promises an “opinion based conclusion,” yet the final sentence—“effectiveness … relies on user”—is incomplete and does not state your view. The discussion of digital media and competition is only loosely connected to the comparison in the question, while the example about blind and deaf people is relevant but not explained or balanced with a concrete example of pictures communicating news effectively. The response is also 53 words below the required minimum, which limits the development of your ideas. State your position directly and support it with specific examples and explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an identifiable attempt to organise the response: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “Primarily,” a contrasting paragraph, and a concluding section. Linking expressions such as “Similarly,” “On the other side,” and “Based on above analysis” show awareness of how to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because the first body paragraph focuses on competition among media platforms rather than explaining how pictures compare with words. The contrast paragraph ends abruptly with “Ot the other hand,” and the conclusion is unfinished, so the argument has no complete resolution. Some transitions also suggest a contrast or conclusion without delivering one. Build each paragraph around one clear point, connect it directly to the question, and complete the final paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “traditional … mass media,” “digital newspaper,” “effectiveness,” and “independent journalists.” These choices show an effort to discuss media beyond very basic terms. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the intended meaning hard to identify: “make belief on picture,” “vast speech,” and “created more efficiency and effectiveness on delivering” are not natural expressions. There are also spelling and word-form problems, such as “decribes,” “ineffictiveness,” and “informations.” Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than repeating “effectiveness and efficiency”; for example, explain that images can “convey information quickly” or “make a story more memorable.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “It has resulted extreme competition between the means of media” and a sentence beginning “For instance.” However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and prepositions frequently make the writing difficult to read. For example, “The television and magazine's news are often narrated by the images” has an unclear possessive structure, while “All the users … are not equally able to gain” is awkwardly formed. The final sentence is incomplete, and “Ot the other hand,” leaves a fragment. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and article use. A wider range of structures will help once these basic patterns are more reliable.
