Student answer (Band 5.5)
A section of community believe that visual presentation has more effects than just a witten story. Media on TV and paper now use more images with everday news. I am also in opinion of using picture to prove the realness of the story and maintain the focus of the individual on the specific news.
To start with, Images represents the small section of the story. News that contains pictorial presentation makes the reader feel that the news is true story. For instance, Google use picture for the trending news which the reader can rely on. Beside this, due to increase in scams, it is hard for individual to trust easily. Henceforth, images are used to gain attention and make individual to trust.
The other reason I believe is maintain the attention of the reader. The news use picture to draw special attention of the reader towards a story. Studies shows that images can maintain focus and makes the news intersting to read. Some news needs special public interest and therefore, it is better to use pictures.
In conclusion, I alongwith few individuals prefer to use visual presentation for news to draw attention and maintain interest of the community without getting bored.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you support pictures because they can make news seem credible and hold readers’ attention. Both reasons are relevant, and you include an example involving Google. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the ideas are brief and under-developed. For example, “Images represents the small section of the story” does not clearly explain how a picture can communicate more effectively than words, and the Google example is not specific enough to show this. The point about scams also needs a clearer link to the effectiveness of news images. The response is 49 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your reasons. Develop each point with a concrete example and explain the comparison with written reporting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your preference. Sequencing phrases such as “To start with,” “The other reason,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the structure. This organisation is a strength. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Beside this” introduces the point about scams, but the relationship between scams and pictures needs explaining; “Henceforth” does not clearly express the intended result. References such as “the news” and “the reader” are also repeated, making the progression feel less flexible. To strengthen cohesion, connect each example directly to the claim it supports and use a wider range of precise linking and referencing rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “visual presentation,” “pictorial presentation,” “draw attention,” and “maintain focus.” These choices show an attempt to express ideas beyond very basic language. However, the range is limited, and several noticeable spelling, word-form, or collocation errors make some phrases awkward: “witten story,” “everday news,” “more effects,” and “maintain the attention.” Some wording is also imprecise, such as “Images represents the small section of the story,” which does not convey a clear meaning. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “news photographs,” “capture readers’ attention,” and “provide visual evidence.” Proofreading spelling and checking how words combine would make your meaning clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure with “Henceforth” and a sentence beginning “Some news needs special public interest.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but frequent errors in sentence structure and agreement affect accuracy. For example, “Images represents” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “Studies shows that images can maintain focus and makes the news” contains inconsistent agreement and verb forms. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in “makes the reader feel that the news is true story.” The range remains limited because most sentences follow straightforward patterns, and attempts to extend them are not consistently controlled. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and parallel verb forms, then use a few complex sentences that you can check carefully.
