Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals believe that pictures are more impectful rather then words since news stories on television as well as on newspaper are often go with pictures.
On the first hand, pictures can make a lot more impact on people's mind through visual effects by show a scene of any situation as well as people can also experience the feels or understand the situation more quickly through pictures as compared to words and can also relate more efficiently with the scene .while people who are less educated or face problem while reading can easily understand what is going on by see picture.
On the other hand , words are more impactful when people tell a story we can not understand whole scenario by seeing a picture .Words can easily illustraes what is going on in a particular scene as well as we can also show emotions through words and some people really like to read newspaper and story books and they prefer less image cause pictures distract them while reading. For example ; a survey was occured in america and 75% people prefer words over picture.
Conclusion, pictures can easily explain the situation through visiuals whereas words are more useful in showing emotions and depth of the story.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both sides of the comparison and give a relevant opinion in the conclusion: pictures can explain situations visually, while words can convey emotion and depth. The points about helping people who find reading difficult and about images distracting some readers are pertinent. However, your position is not fully clear in the introduction, which mainly restates the topic, and the body does not establish which form you consider more effective overall. The survey claim that 75% of Americans prefer words is not explained or supported, and several ideas remain brief. The response also falls 44 words short of the required minimum, limiting the space available to develop your reasons and examples. State your view directly and extend each main point with a specific, explained example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the first hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the comparison, and the conclusion returns to the central topic. However, progression within the body paragraphs is less controlled: several points are joined into long strings, so the relationship between them is not always clear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from visual impact to emotional understanding and then to reading difficulties without clearly separating or developing these ideas. Some linking phrases are also awkward or mechanically used. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain it and give an example; use clear sentence boundaries and references to connect ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “visual effects,” “emotions,” “scenario,” and “distract,” and you attempt to express distinctions between the impact of images and words. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the writing less natural, such as “more impectful,” “experience the feels,” and “illustraes what is going on.” Spelling errors, including “visiuals,” also reduce accuracy. Some repeated general wording, such as “more impactful” and “what is going on,” limits precision. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and word forms; for instance, describe images as “conveying a scene” and words as “providing detail.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “while” and comparisons such as “as compared to words.” However, complex sentences are often faulty or run together, and errors sometimes make the intended relationships harder to follow. Examples include “news stories … are often go with pictures,” “by show a scene,” and “people can easily understand … by see picture.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “a survey was occured” and the long sentence beginning “Words can easily…” that joins several independent ideas. Use a reliable simple sentence pattern first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check verb forms after prepositions and modal verbs, and punctuate each complete idea clearly.
