Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern world news play an important role providing imformation to the society. News are often presented in the form of picture and written some people like to watch news along with the picture whereas some people like to read it
Firstly, People with the photogenic memory like to watch the news along with the photograph or aong with the charts as they think it give thier mind about the connection with that. For example if people see the chart of the gdp falling down on the bar graph and along with that 3 big paragraph has been written under the picture people having the keen intrest will read that news whereas the unintrested people can skip it and leave it to next.
Secondly, People can easly relate with the situation or it is easy to grab the attention of the people if they see the picture of the incident that they have heard about it from someone.if they newspaper add 2 big paragraph with the picture of the bus which has been hit by a truck then if will be easy for the people to know that this is the news about the bus accident that has happend recently.
However, Written context is also important because without it it will be hard of anyone to get fully imforation and which can create an huge problem.
Conclusion,I believe that picture is generally able to grab people attention better than the written context but both can be used to provide imformation to the people

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a clear opinion in the conclusion: pictures generally attract attention more effectively, while written information is also necessary. The two main reasons—visuals can help some people connect information and can make an incident easier to recognise—are relevant, and the GDP chart and bus-accident examples support them. This addresses the question, but the discussion is unevenly developed. The first example is difficult to follow, and the point about written context is only briefly stated, without explaining what information words provide that a picture cannot. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more fully and make the comparison between pictures and words explicit throughout, rather than relying mainly on examples of attention and recognition.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting reasons, a qualification about written information, and a conclusion. The sequence from attention to understanding an incident is generally logical, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “However” help show the direction of the argument. However, some links are mechanical, and the opening does not clearly establish the position that is stated later. Within paragraphs, ideas sometimes run together; for example, the GDP-chart sentence combines several points without clearly showing how they relate. The reference in “if they newspaper add” is also unclear. Use clearer topic sentences, divide long explanations into manageable sentences, and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “photograph,” “charts,” “GDP,” “bar graph,” and “attention.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “photogenic memory” and “keen interest,” although the former does not accurately express the intended idea. Noticeable spelling and word-choice problems—such as “imformation,” “easly,” “unintrested,” and “written context”—make the writing less precise and can slow the reader. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “give their mind about the connection” and “grab people attention.” Build a more accurate range around visual evidence and written reporting, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For instance, “visuals attract attention” is more natural than “grab people attention.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “whereas,” “because,” and “if.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “News play” needs a singular verb, while “it give their mind” has an unclear subject–verb pattern. The opening also joins ideas without a complete, well-formed sentence, and “without it it will be hard of anyone” shows problems with pronouns and grammatical patterns. Improve accuracy by checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and use shorter sentences when a longer structure becomes difficult to control.
