Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this world, stories on television and in newspaper are many time explained by pictures or photos. Some of the proactive believe that photos are more convincing than sentences. In my opinion I support this statement.

On the one hand, while watching news number of individual needs video or photography of the incident which they believe that this is the best way to get the news rather than waiting for listening the whole story. Additionally, they don't have passion they wanted to get all the things as early as possible so they prefer to watch videos or photos of news. Also, in newsapaper they are just looks for pictures of the news so don't have to waste time to read the text.

Furthermore, picture are more better way to explain the story instead of reading the sentences. It saves time and easy way to get news. As a result there should be chance some human errors or mistakes in newspaper as well as on television when explaining the incident so, video or photo which majority of people prefer is good option.

In my point of perspective, I believe the same thing like if someone is in hurry or getting late he/she want to know whole incident story from newspaper or from live telecast pictures will be the best option to get know whole story behind the incident. In addition to this, since childhood everyone treated like to see picture videos which they get familiar and don't want to change their style.

In conclusion, pictures and vidoes of stories are more convincing than reading the text. Majority of the citizens uses this style for best and fastest way to know the whole story.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you support the view that pictures are more effective, and you give relevant reasons, including that they can communicate quickly and save readers time. The response also stays focused on the comparison between images and written news. However, the task is only partly developed: several points repeat the idea of speed, while the claim that pictures are “more convincing” is not explained with a specific example or a clear distinction between informing and persuading. The point about possible “human errors” is also unclear and does not show why images are preferable. To strengthen the response, develop fewer reasons in more depth and include a concrete example, such as how a photograph can show the scale of an event more immediately than a written report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression is limited because several paragraphs return to the same idea—that pictures are faster and easier—rather than building distinct points. Some connections are also difficult to follow: “As a result” does not clearly link the claim about human errors to the preference for photos, and the long sentence beginning “In my point of perspective” combines several ideas without clear organisation. Use each body paragraph for a separate reason, and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your general view, including “incident,” “telecast,” “convincing,” and “citizens.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or combinations are noticeably unnatural, which can make meaning less precise. For example, “proactive” does not express the intended meaning of people who hold an opinion, and “they don't have passion they wanted to get all the things” is difficult to interpret. There are also spelling errors such as “newsapaper” and “vido es.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than more complicated phrasing: describe people as “prefer to see images,” and say that pictures “convey information quickly.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “since,” and “which.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “number of individual needs video or photography” has problems with the article, number and verb agreement, while “they don't have passion they wanted” joins clauses without a clear grammatical connection. Other examples include “picture are” and “everyone treated like to see,” where agreement or sentence structure is faulty. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals and punctuation, especially in longer sentences.
