Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter covers all three bullet points: describing the course, requesting company assistance, and explaining the benefits. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the description of the course is brief, and the request for leave is slightly repetitive. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening 'Dear Sir' is slightly less standard than 'Dear Sir or Madam' as requested in the prompt. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the specific content of the AI course and provide a more professional justification for how the company will benefit from your new skills.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the use of 'Although' at the start of a sentence is grammatically incorrect in this context, and 'However' is used inconsistently. The transition between the request for leave and the explanation of the course benefits could be smoother. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'Cyber Security', 'Artificial Intelligence', and 'productivity'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'read advertisement of' (missing 'an'), 'in half of time' (should be 'in half the time'), and 'famous in all working employees' (should be 'popular among'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary and better awareness of common English collocations to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in IT sector'), incorrect verb forms ('I will able to'), and punctuation issues. Some sentences are fragmented or lack proper subject-verb agreement. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately will help improve your score in this criterion.
