Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Manager,
I am already glad that I have got the chance to work under this fantastic organization. I acquire new information everyday regarding our objectives, projects and presentations.
Moreover, I still doubt that my presentation skills need more improvement. Actually, I have seen an ad on television which offers a training program related to developing presentation skills. Additionally, This would be extremely helpful for me to focus on my weakness and learn more.
However, I still do need your assistance to focus on this course. I will really appreciate if you can offer me two weeks off cause this program starts in afternoon which makes difficult for me to attend the classes online while working in office.
Therefore, this will not only improve my confidence in this skill but also benefits our company to shine front of others with proper presentations. This skill also could be utilized to gain more growth in this competitive business industry.
Yours Sincerely,
aaakkkkk

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the course, explaining the company's role, and detailing the benefits. Your tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, you mention the course is on television but do not provide specific details about the curriculum or duration, which would make your request more persuasive. Additionally, the explanation of how the company can help is slightly vague. To improve, try to provide more concrete details about the training provider or the specific skills you hope to gain to better justify the request for time off.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Additionally', 'However', and 'Therefore' to link your ideas. While these are functional, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly misused, such as starting a paragraph with 'However' when you are not necessarily contrasting with the previous point. The progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the logical flow between sentences is more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly. Phrases like 'competitive business industry' and 'fantastic organization' show an attempt to use more descriptive language. However, there are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'I am already glad' (which sounds slightly unnatural) and 'shine front of others' (which should be 'shine in front of others'). You also use 'cause' instead of the formal 'because'. To improve, focus on using more precise professional collocations and avoiding informal abbreviations in formal correspondence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I still doubt that my presentation skills need more improvement' (the meaning is slightly unclear here; you likely meant 'I feel my skills need improvement') and 'starts in afternoon' (missing the article 'the'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors throughout. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound.
