Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all three bullet points: describing the course, requesting schedule changes, and explaining the benefits. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the description of the course is vague, and the explanation of how the company could help is slightly disjointed. While the purpose of the letter is clear, the tone is inconsistent, and the lack of detail regarding the specific nature of the training prevents a higher score. To improve, you should provide more specific details about the course content and clearly link the benefits to your current role at the company.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'in order of that' or 'in these course'. There are also issues with sentence boundaries and logical flow between ideas. For instance, the transition between the request for a schedule change and the mention of financial funding is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in addition' would help create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'reduce a working hour' instead of 'reduce my working hours' and 'take admission on' instead of 'enrolled in'. The repetition of basic words like 'advance' and 'skills' limits the range. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and professional terminology relevant to a business context, and ensure that word forms are used correctly in their respective contexts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles ('in morning time'), incorrect verb tenses ('it schedule' instead of 'it is scheduled'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('it will brings'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing capital letters at the start of sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band score.
