Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the course, requesting company support, and explaining the benefits. However, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence ('I strongly bileave afer this training has'), which prevents full development of the final point. Additionally, the response falls short of the 150-word minimum requirement. While the tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, the lack of a proper conclusion and the insufficient length significantly impact the overall task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, but the flow is hindered by the abrupt ending. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'I am writing to you' and 'Unfortunately', but the transitions between ideas are sometimes mechanical or disjointed. The lack of a clear closing statement makes the overall progression feel incomplete. Paragraphing is present but could be more effectively utilized to separate the distinct requirements of the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and contains numerous spelling errors that occasionally impede readability, such as 'traing' (training), 'heald' (held), 'opertuniety' (opportunity), 'enrolle' (enroll), 'recidential' (residential), 'compleated' (completed), 'requierments' (requirements), 'releted' (related), 'appriceate' (appreciate), 'provied' (provide), 'espress' (express), 'benifit' (benefit), 'functuality' (punctuality), and 'bileave' (believe). While the student attempts to use professional terminology, the high frequency of spelling mistakes and word-choice errors limits the effectiveness of the communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response relies on simple sentence structures with frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'I am writing to you to emphasize my interest about a International traing course that heald by', where the passive voice is incorrectly formed, and 'I have a Financial issue that the the Flying Tickets', which is syntactically confused. There are also issues with article usage ('a International') and prepositional errors. The incomplete final sentence further demonstrates a lack of control over complex structures.
