Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the course is described, the need for company support is implied, and the professional benefits are explained. However, the tone is inconsistent and occasionally inappropriate for a formal letter to a manager. For instance, the opening 'Dear Sir' is acceptable, but the content lacks professional polish. The explanation of how the company could help is somewhat vague; you mention needing information, but you do not explicitly ask for financial support or time off, which is usually expected in this task. The ideas are relevant but could be developed with more professional detail to better meet the requirements of a formal business request.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed due to awkward phrasing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'Therefore', they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that feels mechanical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'my work to do their to talking with the students', which makes it difficult to follow the logical flow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and professional tone required for a business letter. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'consult of company students' and 'all age of humans', which sound unnatural. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'take help to other employees' instead of 'seek assistance from colleagues'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated business-related terminology and ensure that your word choices are accurate and appropriate for the context of a formal request to a manager.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('my work to do their to talking'), missing articles ('I saw advertisement'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('a lot of student speak'). While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. The punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction needs significant improvement to ensure clarity. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures to ensure your meaning is conveyed accurately.
