Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the course, explaining the company's role, and detailing the benefits. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed. For instance, when you mention the company's 'poor data', it is a bit vague; explaining how the course specifically addresses this would have strengthened the response. Additionally, the request for financial support could be more clearly articulated to sound more professional. Overall, the message is clear and the purpose of the letter is achieved.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally' and 'Therefore' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. For example, the transition in the third paragraph ('as a part of it I filled the form') is slightly abrupt and lacks a smooth connection to the previous clause. Referencing is generally clear, but some sentences could be better connected to improve the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'incentives', 'allocated budget', and 'dashboards'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'cushion pay' (should be 'cushion to pay') and 'company consist of poor data' (should be 'company has had poor data'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations and prepositional usage. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated professional phrasing would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips throughout the text, such as 'I require to get' (should be 'I would like to request'), 'this skills help me' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'it help us' (should be 'it helps us'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To reach a higher band, you should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of infinitive versus gerund structures after specific verbs.
