Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir ,
Hope this letter finds you well . I am writing this letter to bring your attention towards upcoming online training sessions on marketing strategies . I am willing to enrolled in business and marketing strategy course which is held on 26th August .
While working with your company, I polished my down points in customer service , operating data systems and so on . Later on I implemented that skills in my profession which gives productive outcomes to business and I got ample of rewards on the basis of that . This time I want to be a part of business and marketing strategy course . It will run online so easy for me to attend in my comfort zone .
As we are working on big project with Brooklyn company next month , this course would be able to give me overview to baseline data as well so we could prepare our team for hurdles and outcomes .
Kindly approve my request to be a part of this session . I shall be very thankful to you for this act of kindness .
Yours obedient
Priya.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You describe the marketing course, explain the need for company support, and link the course to the upcoming project with the Brooklyn company. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how the company could help is implied rather than explicitly stated (e.g., asking for funding or time off). The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the closing 'Yours obedient' is non-standard for a professional context. Overall, the task is addressed, but the ideas could be expanded with more specific detail to fully satisfy the requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'While working with...' and 'This time...', to connect ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the past achievements and the current request is a bit abrupt. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between paragraphs would help elevate this score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'marketing strategies', 'productive outcomes', and 'baseline data'. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'polished my down points' (which is unclear) and 'ample of rewards' (should be 'ample rewards'). The phrase 'in my comfort zone' is slightly informal for a request to a manager. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, there is a lack of precision and some awkward phrasing that prevents a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'While working with your company, I polished...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('I am willing to enrolled' should be 'I am willing to enroll') and article usage ('the' is missing before 'business and marketing strategy course'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest a need for more careful proofreading and attention to basic grammatical rules.
