Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all three bullet points: describing the course, requesting company support, and explaining the benefits. However, the development of these ideas is limited by the informal tone and repetitive phrasing. For example, the explanation of how the course benefits the company is somewhat simplistic, focusing only on cost-saving rather than professional development. The tone is inconsistent with a formal business letter, as seen in phrases like 'I proudly told you sir'. While the task is completed, the lack of professional register and the somewhat disjointed explanation of the course content prevent it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often inaccurate. Transitions such as 'However' are used incorrectly to start the second paragraph, and the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'this training is out for state', which makes it difficult to follow the logic. While there is an overall attempt at a logical sequence, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of the sentence structure limit the coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often inappropriate for a formal business context. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'radiant health and high spirits' (which is overly flowery for a business letter) and 'decorate to any house'. The student struggles to express professional concepts, relying on basic terms like 'good chance' and 'high rate'. Spelling errors, such as 'nd' for 'and', and grammatical word-form errors like 'decorate' instead of 'decoration' further hinder the quality of the lexical resource. A wider range of professional vocabulary is needed.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('I am always do something'), article usage ('a advertisement'), and sentence structure ('I request to sir place arrangement'). The student relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'that's company has not waste the money'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. The range of structures is limited, and the high error rate is a significant concern.
