Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You described the training course (Building AI agents), explained how the company could help (providing software and hardware), and explained the relevance to your job (boosting skills for AI engineering). However, the development of these points is somewhat thin. For instance, the request for software and hardware is vague; specifying what exactly is needed would have made the request more professional and persuasive. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager, though the structure could be more polished to ensure all ideas are fully extended.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'While', to link your ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'While, reading that I had a thought to opt this course', which is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'it needs firm's concern', where the antecedent of 'it' is slightly ambiguous. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words would elevate this score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'utilize', 'opt', and 'complex problem'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors. For example, 'a information' is incorrect (information is uncountable), and 'firm's concern' is not the standard way to express company approval or support. Phrases like 'boost my job skill' are understandable but could be more sophisticated. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct usage of articles with uncountable nouns.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use some complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'a information' (article error), 'on every weekends' (pluralization error), and 'grant me a permission' (uncountable noun error). Additionally, the sentence 'While, reading that I had a thought to opt this course' contains an unnecessary comma and awkward phrasing. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
