Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the course is described, the company's role is identified, and the relevance to the job is explained. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat thin. For instance, the description of the course is vague, and the explanation of how the company can help is limited to a request for permission and a letter. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more specific details about the course content and elaborate on how the company's support (e.g., funding or time off) would specifically facilitate your professional development. The tone is appropriate for a formal business letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of your request. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'With regard to' and 'It is also worth mentioning'. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'I am referencing to an online link'. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly. Overall, the structure is coherent and serves the purpose of the task well.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'beneficial', 'context', and 'at your earliest convenience'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'associates with advance SQL' (should be 'focuses on advanced SQL') and 'To get enroll' (should be 'To enroll'). Additionally, 'Your faithfully' is a common error; it should be 'Yours faithfully'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and standard business letter conventions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include capitalization issues ('i' instead of 'I'), missing articles ('the' before 'SQL'), and incorrect verb forms ('To get enroll'). While these errors rarely impede the reader's understanding, they occur consistently throughout the text. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent capitalization, and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while ensuring they remain error-free would also help raise your score in this criterion.
