Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You described the AI course, explained how the company could assist with the fee, and outlined the benefits for your role. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of how the course will benefit the company could be more detailed to be more persuasive. While you have covered all requirements, the depth of your arguments is basic, which prevents this from reaching the higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Once', but the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'I am writing this letter for a help'. The logical flow is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally imprecise, which makes some sentences feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between your ideas would help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your request clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'artificial intelligence', 'software', and 'discount'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'I hope you find this email well' (should be 'I hope this email finds you well') and 'I surprised after to knowing' (should be 'I was surprised to learn'). These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range of vocabulary and some issues with collocation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I am writing this letter for a help', 'if company provides me card information', and 'Once, I will done with course'. These errors, particularly with articles, verb tenses, and sentence construction, are noticeable. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors suggests that you need to focus on basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure to improve your control over the language.
