Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the course, explaining the company's role, and stating the benefits. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the course is for 'filling prescription of narcotic medicines,' you could have provided more detail on the specific skills or modules involved. The request for time off is clear, but the explanation of how the company can help is slightly repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are fully extended with more specific detail rather than just stating the basic requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the introduction to the request and the justification. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between sentences often relies on simple structures or lacks linking words entirely, such as in the second paragraph where ideas are joined with 'And the also'. Paragraphing is present but could be more distinct to separate the different requirements of the task. Improving the variety of transition signals would help the flow of your writing significantly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'narcotic medicines' and 'certification'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'filling prescription' instead of 'filling prescriptions' and 'I would thankful to you' instead of 'I would be grateful'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('number of patients will be increase'), article usage, and verb forms ('I would thankful'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and the closing salutation. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing 'be' verbs would be very beneficial.
