Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You described the course, explained how the company could assist, and outlined the benefits for your role. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how the company can help is slightly vague, relying on the mention of a 'company reference' without fully explaining the logistical or financial support needed. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanations are more detailed and professional in tone. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the tone is generally appropriate for a formal request to a manager.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'Finally' to transition between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical or forced. Additionally, there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as in the third paragraph where the sentence structure becomes convoluted. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea will enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'HR strategies', 'international employees', and 'qualifications'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'make more easier' (should be 'make it easier') and 'advertisement was state that' (should be 'stated that'). To improve, focus on using more precise verbs and adjectives. Avoid repeating simple structures and try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to professional development and corporate environments.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'training course of HR strategies' (missing an article), 'i am preparing' (the pronoun 'I' should always be capitalized), and 'which criteria should be focus' (should be 'focused'). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'advertisement was state that'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. Focusing on basic proofreading for articles, verb forms, and capitalization will significantly improve your accuracy.
