Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all three bullet points required by the prompt, though the tone and appropriateness in addressing a manager require some adjustment. You describe the training course as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course at the Royal Institute, explain company support by noting that you expect the company to cover all expenses, and show its usefulness by stating that you need to renew your expired license and update your skills due to recent coursework changes. However, addressing the manager with statements like 'Being an employer of this company i can get any license on company,s expenses' sounds slightly demanding rather than professional. Despite this pragmatic nuance, all parts of the task are adequately addressed, earning a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks proper paragraphing, as the entire body of the letter is written as a single block of text. This makes the progression of ideas feel somewhat cluttered, although an overall coherent arrangement is maintained. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic, such as 'There are also' and 'By getting this'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, for example, using 'it's employees standard' where the apostrophe error adds to mechanical punctuation issues. The letter opens with an incorrect salutation ('Dear sir' instead of the requested 'Dear Sir or Madam,') and closes with 'yours Faithfully'. Due to the lack of paragraphing and basic mechanical cohesion, a Band 5.0 is awarded.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, featuring subject-specific terms such as 'healthcare practitioner', 'certified doctor', and 'Advanced cardiac life saving'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as referring to yourself as an 'employer' when you mean 'employee', and using 'beneficery rewards'. Spelling and punctuation errors are also present, including spacing issues around commas and apostrophes like 'company,s' and 'it's employees standard'. While the range is sufficient to communicate your main points, these persistent inaccuracies limit the lexical score to Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'By getting this i can also update my license and will beable to work more confidently.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly concerning verb tenses and auxiliary verbs, such as 'my license has been expired last week' (should be 'expired last week') and spelling/spacing issues like 'will beable'. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, with lowercase 'i' appearing multiple times. Punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods and commas, detract from the overall accuracy. These frequent non-impeding errors place the grammar securely in the Band 5.5 category.
