As I am a barista and i have seen an international company now started a adverties for there new espresso machine. This machine is a game changer for your business and i can learn more about this machine. With this machine you could get espresso easily and make the coffee faster. Could you be able to provide me a course i can learn and be confident. this will help me a lot to mane some Latte, Cappucino and the Flat white art. If you provide me this course i can give my best and i can do training to the other stuff. The espresso machine is quite small and it doesnt take a lot of speace. It will be a great fit for our company.

Thank you for your time and i look forward to hearing from you.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, though the development is somewhat basic. You described the training course by mentioning that it is for a new espresso machine and discussed how it will be useful for your job, such as helping you make 'Latte, Cappucino and the Flat white art'. You also explained what the company could do to help you by asking your manager to provide the course. However, the tone of the letter is inconsistent and occasionally confuses who is being addressed, such as referring to 'your business' instead of 'our company' and mixing up the roles. The purpose is generally clear, but the ideas lack full professional expansion and appropriateness for a workplace communication to a manager. Overall, the requirements of the task are covered at a minimally acceptable standard.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter uses a basic paragraph structure, separating the opening, body points, and closing sign-off. However, the logical progression is weak and ideas feel disjointed. For instance, jumping abruptly from discussing the espresso machine features to asking for the course, and then back to describing the physical size of the machine ('The espresso machine is quite small and it doesnt take a lot of speace'), disrupts the flow. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, such as starting with 'To may it concern, I am writing this letter regarding advertising for the training course'. Paragraphing is also disrupted by single-sentence paragraphs that fragment the body of the letter. Overall arrangement shows some organisation, but the overall progression lacks cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with several noticeable errors that reflect a limited range. For example, expressions like 'regarding advertising for the training course' instead of 'an advertisement' and 'started a adverties' show poor word formation and spelling control. Other awkward phrasing includes 'mane some Latte' instead of 'make' and 'speace' instead of 'space'. While common industry terms like 'barista', 'espresso machine', 'Latte', and 'Cappucino' are included, the overall lexical resource is restricted and contains errors that cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent achievement of a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent errors, such as 'To may it concern', 'i have seen an international company now started a adverties', and 'Could you be able to provide me a course i can learn'. Punctuation is also problematic, notably missing capitalisation for pronouns like 'i' and starting sentences without proper capitalization in 'this will help me a lot'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are occasionally faulty (e.g., 'to the other stuff' instead of 'staff'). These errors occur frequently throughout the text, although they do not entirely obscure the overall meaning of your message.
