Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The candidate addresses all three bullet points required in the task, although some parts are somewhat confused by misinterpretation of the context. The letter is addressed to a manager, but the content confuses a job application or internship request with a company-sponsored training course (e.g., asking for a permission letter to work as an internee). The course is mentioned as the 'Management Training officer course', and the utility is discussed in terms of gaining experience and building a resume. However, the explanation of what the company could do to help is conflated with securing an internship rather than support for training. Ideas are presented but remain underdeveloped. This performance aligns with Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter is divided into clear paragraphs, including appropriate salutations and sign-offs, though the opening greeting mixes the prompt requirement with a comma error ('Dear Sir ,'). There is some logical progression, moving from interest in the course to company assistance and future utility. However, cohesive devices are often mechanical, repetitive, or misused (e.g., 'Moreover', 'So that'). Paragraphing is somewhat fragmented, with several very short, simple sentences that disrupt the flow of information. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun shifts between the company and the external educational institute. This reflects Band 5 Coherence and Cohesion characteristics.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple terms like 'course', 'job', and 'company'. There are noticeable inappropriate word choices and collocations, such as 'upgrade there alumni status', 'operate many functions', and 'It will be an owner for me' (likely intended to mean an honour). Spelling errors also occur, such as 'internee' (intern) and 'there' instead of 'their'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to communicate the basic intent, these limitations and frequent errors place the response firmly in the Band 5 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences and basic complex forms connected by coordinating conjunctions. Attempts at complex structures often result in faulty punctuation or grammar, as seen in sentence fragments and run-on constructions like 'So that I will get a chance to become the part of your well known multinational company.' Punctuation errors are present, including spaces before commas and periods. Frequent errors in articles, prepositions, and verb forms cause occasional difficulty for the reader. This performance is characteristic of Band 5.
