Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task, meeting the basic requirements for each bullet point, although some ideas are more fully developed than others. The training course is described as being related to customers' service, and how it will be useful is explained by mentioning how it will enhance communication skills and dealing with a variety of customers. The requirement for company help is also mentioned through requesting a referral to the HR department. However, some areas remain slightly under-developed; for instance, the explanation of how the company will benefit is somewhat superficial when stating 'company will get the benefit too.' To reach a higher level, all bullet points would need to be extended with more specific details and fully elaborated arguments throughout the entire letter.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear, logical progression from introduction to the main points and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different topics, such as the description of the course in the first paragraph, the request for company assistance in the second paragraph, and the overall benefits in the third paragraph. However, cohesion at times feels a bit mechanical or repetitive, particularly with transitions like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' in the final paragraph. Additionally, referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the phrase 'acquire this course by referring me in HR department,' which impacts smooth flow. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and flexibly to link ideas seamlessly across sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying the intended message. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'customer care representative,' 'communication skills,' and 'career growth.' However, there are some noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form. For example, phrases like 'acquire this course' and 'referring me in HR department' are unnatural collocations, and the spelling error 'availabe' alongside the typo 'palys' occurs in the text. Although these lexical errors do not impede communication, they reflect a limited precision in vocabulary control. To achieve a higher standard, the student needs to incorporate a wider range of sophisticated, less common lexical items with accurate collocation and flawless spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like relative clauses ('which I believe will be useful') and conditional elements effectively. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing articles ('in company's portal', 'in HR department') and awkward preposition usage ('referring me in'). Despite these issues, the grammatical errors are sporadic rather than frequent, and they rarely impede communication. The writer maintains good control over basic sentence patterns. To move to the next level, the student should aim to produce a higher proportion of error-free complex sentences and demonstrate greater mastery over articles and prepositional patterns within complex grammatical structures.
