Dear Sir/ madam,

I am considering in doing a job related certification and therfore i need your permission to shift my office schedule earlier than my start time.

I have to decided to take up course on MEP design and BIM model. As this will complement my work duties. Being already working as Quality Engineer in this field and well sounded about the nature of the job and checks i do. I felt deeply interested in knowing the design stage of this job, which will given me a complete understanding of start to end processes that takes place.

In regard to attain it i need to leave at 4pm from the office in correspond to current closing time 5pm. It is a 3 month course. In order to make it happen i need your permission to leave early for my work for this particular period. I hope you grant me the permission, and i will make sure the required work is completed before time before i leave.

I look forward for your positive response. Thank you for your consideration.

Your sincerely,

James

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the course as MEP design and BIM modelling, explain that you want to leave at 4 p.m. rather than 5 p.m., and connect the training to your Quality Engineer role. However, the task is only partly addressed because the benefit to your work is stated generally: learning the design stage and understanding the process “from start to end” are relevant, but you do not give a specific example of how this knowledge would improve your checks or work with colleagues. The help requested is also limited to permission to leave early; you could clarify whether you need schedule flexibility, financial support, or both. Develop these points and make the request clearer to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure: you introduce your request, describe the course, explain the schedule change, and close politely. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and phrases such as “In regard to attain it” signal a transition. However, progression is not always smooth: the second paragraph contains several short, disconnected statements, including “As this will complement my work duties” and “Being already working as Quality Engineer,” which do not form a clear sequence. Some linking expressions also sound mechanical or do not clearly connect the ideas. Organise the course details and its workplace benefits together, then present the practical request and reassurance about completing your work in a more direct sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant workplace and technical vocabulary, including “Quality Engineer,” “MEP design,” “BIM model,” and “work duties,” so the reader can understand the subject of the request. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “In regard to attain it” and “positive response,” but several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural and reduce precision. For example, “job related certification” is vague, and “well sounded about the nature of the job” does not clearly express your experience. Spelling errors such as “therfore” and “i” also affect presentation. Choose more natural collocations and check spelling; precise wording will make the professional purpose of the letter clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including a longer explanation of how the course relates to your role, and the main request remains understandable. However, complex structures are often faulty, as in “I am considering in doing” and “Being already working as Quality Engineer,” where the verb patterns and sentence construction are incorrect. Other errors include “I have to decided,” “which will given me,” and “I need to leave at 4pm … in correspond to current closing time 5pm.” These problems make some sentences difficult to follow, although the overall meaning can usually be recovered. Practise verb patterns after “consider,” infinitive forms, and complete sentence construction, and check articles and punctuation in longer sentences.
