Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear sir or Madam,

My name is Kirat Modi and I work at this organization (Amazon) from last 5 years in the Data Allocation team. Recently I came across an advertisement regarding a very important skill in Data Analysis. As per over working pipeline my allocated data are passed to Data Analysis team. I am confident that this course as mentioned in the advertisement that they will cover absolute beginner terms like What is DATA and filters to intermediate processes like How to structure raw data for better analysis along with hands on training labs where I will be working on actual big DATA as well.

I am confident that this training will not only improve my skills but also help me allocate my data more efficiently so that next team to work on it have to spend less time organising it and increasing overall productivity of quality results.

I will need the recommendation of company along with a allowance week of remote work from next month.

Thankyou for your time and considration

Kirat Modi

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you describe a data-analysis course, ask the company for support, and explain how the training could improve your work. The examples of beginner topics, intermediate processes and practical labs make the course reasonably clear. You also connect the skills to preparing data for the next team and improving productivity. However, the request for company help is less fully explained: “the recommendation of company” and “a allowance week of remote work” do not make clear whether you need a reference, funding, or time away from normal duties. Develop this request and explain more specifically how the course content will improve your data-allocation tasks to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter follows a generally understandable order: you introduce your role and the course, explain its potential benefit, and then make a request. This gives the reader a coherent overall picture. The progression is less clear within the opening paragraph, where the link between your current workflow and the course advertisement is compressed into “As per over working pipeline my allocated data are passed to Data Analysis team.” The long sentence describing course content also carries several ideas at once. Use separate paragraphs for the course, its workplace benefits, and the support you need, and make links between them explicit. A conventional closing would also help the letter feel complete and appropriately organised.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the subject, including “Data Analysis,” “filters,” “raw data,” “hands on training labs,” and “productivity.” These terms help communicate the course’s practical focus. However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural, which limits clarity: “over working pipeline,” “allocate my data,” and “an allowance week of remote work” do not express the intended ideas clearly. There are also spelling and form errors, such as “considration,” and inconsistent capitalisation of “DATA.” Choose more natural workplace collocations and check spelling and capitalisation. For example, describe the workflow as “our current process” and say that you want to “prepare data more effectively” for the next team.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence explaining that the course will improve your skills and help the next team. The main message is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors make parts of the letter difficult to follow. For example, “I work at this organization … from last 5 years” needs a present-perfect form and a different preposition, while “my allocated data are passed” has an awkward passive construction. In “so that next team to work on it have to spend less time,” the article, verb form and pronoun reference need attention. Break up the long course-description sentence and check agreement, articles and tense patterns to improve accuracy.
