Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover all three requested points: you describe a course in advanced computer skills and programming, ask the company to help with its $6,000 cost and provide time off, and explain that it could improve how you manage and store data. The purpose of the letter is clear and the ideas are relevant. However, the course description and its direct benefits to your data-management role are not fully developed; for example, explain which work tasks or responsibilities would improve after the training. The request for weekend leave could also be made more precise, since it is unclear whether the course takes place on weekends or whether you need time to study. A more specific explanation of the support you seek would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: you introduce your request, describe the course and your current skills, explain the cost and time support needed, and close politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points, and expressions such as “Additionally” and “Moreover” guide the reader through the information. This coherent structure meets the task well. To make the progression more natural and controlled, avoid using connectors that do not show a clear relationship: “However” introduces the cost, but the contrast is not fully established. Some ideas also run together in long sentences, particularly the course description. Separate the course content, its relevance to your role, and your requests into clearer units, and use linking phrases only where they clarify the connection.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “training course,” “computer programming,” “store data,” and “basic knowledge.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which makes parts of the letter less precise. For example, “advanced computer skills like how to store data with different advance keyboard commands” is awkward and repetitive, while “help for me” and “day off on weekends” do not express your meaning naturally. There are also spelling and form issues, such as “advance” where “advanced” is needed. Aim for more precise workplace language and check common word combinations; this will make your request sound clearer and more professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand your request. Some grammatical errors remain, however, including “I am working as a Data management department,” “I will able to learn,” and “this course is bit expensive.” These need different structures: for example, “I work in the data management department,” “I will be able to learn,” and “the course is a bit expensive.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: there is no space after several full stops or commas, and the course description contains a run-on sequence of ideas. Practise accurate articles, verb patterns and complete sentence construction, while retaining some complex sentences to show a wider range.
