Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you describe an ultrasound course in reproductive veterinary medicine, request paid leave and travel expenses, and explain how the training could improve diagnosis and farm performance. The benefits are relevant, especially the link between better reproductive diagnosis and the farm’s reproduction rate. This meets the task well, but some details are less fully developed: for example, you do not specify the course dates or duration, and the request for company support could be made more precise. The letter also begins “Dear Sir,” rather than using the supplied opening, “Dear Sir or Madam,” and the closing could be more formally matched to the recipient. Adding practical course details and a clearer, courteous request would strengthen the response further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: the first paragraph introduces the course, the second asks for support, and the third explains its workplace value. This makes the purpose easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “After gaining expertise” and “So overall” to connect ideas. However, some connections feel repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “I hope” near the opening and “course” or “company” across adjacent sentences. The final paragraph combines several benefits without clearly distinguishing the personal skill gain from the wider farm benefit. Use more varied referencing and transitions, and make each paragraph’s progression more deliberate, so the links between training, improved diagnosis, and economic value are clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-specific vocabulary, including “ultrasound training,” “reproductive problems,” “theriogenology,” and “diagnose,” which helps communicate the course’s relevance. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “in this regard” and “kind cooperation.” Some word choices and collocations are less natural or precise: “paid vacations” would be better expressed as “paid leave,” while “travel expenditures” is more naturally “travel expenses.” Spelling errors such as “particulary,” “woulld,” and “definitley” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise workplace vocabulary and proofread spelling; this will make the letter sound more fluent and professionally controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a company that provide advanced training” and a time clause in “After gaining expertise in this technique.” The message remains clear despite some grammatical errors. For example, subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “a company that provide”; it should be “a company that provides.” The opening phrase “I hope that everything would be going smoothly” has an awkward tense choice; “is going smoothly” is appropriate here. There are also article and number issues in phrases such as “in reproduction department” and “our farm's reproduction rate.” Review agreement, articles, and tense consistency, and check punctuation and spacing, to improve accuracy while retaining your varied sentence structures.
