Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir/Madam

Hope you are doing well;I am writing this letter to inform you about the learning skill course for different lanuage, which i have seen on online platform and wanted to participate in that course as it will help me to communicate with people fluently and achieve the goal easily.

I would like to request to the organization to give me grant for this course as it is beneficial for the company as well. Also, working for global based company i need to deal with individuals who only knows their native language and it finds difficult to communicate with them, so can please arrange a zoom meeting with employees who are working in different countries so that it can help me to practice for the course.

Learning this material will help the organization in certain ways such as it become easy to convince the client to purchase the product by speaking in their home tongue and it will also useful when someone need to attend international conference on behalf of the company.

I am looking forward to hear you regarding this matter,

Yours Faithfully,

Parth Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you describe a language course, request financial support and practice opportunities, and explain how the learning could help with clients and international conferences. The examples about communicating with clients in their native language and representing the company are relevant. However, the course itself is described quite generally; specify the language, course format or duration, and what skills it teaches. The request for help is also somewhat unclear: “give me grant” does not explain the likely cost or the particular support you need. Developing these details and making the benefits more directly connected to your own duties would make the letter more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall sequence: you introduce the course, ask for support, and then explain its workplace value. Paragraphing helps distinguish these purposes, and links such as “Also” and “so that” make the relationships between ideas understandable. This gives the response a coherent progression. To make the organisation more polished, separate the course description from the request for support, and use clearer transitions between the company’s practical assistance and the benefits of the course. Some sentences contain several ideas joined together, which makes the progression feel crowded. More precise referencing and sentence breaks would help each point stand out without disrupting the overall flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “communicate,” “native language,” “client,” and “international conference,” so the main message is clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “on behalf of the company.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “learning skill course for different lanuage,” “global based company,” and “home tongue.” Spelling errors such as “lanuage” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural workplace phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, describe it as a “language course” and refer to a “global company” and clients’ “native languages.” This would make your vocabulary more precise and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “as” and a purpose clause with “so that.” These structures help explain why you want the course and how practice could support your learning. Some grammatical errors remain, however. For example, “individuals who only knows” needs subject–verb agreement, while “it will also useful” is missing a verb. The opening “Hope you are doing well” is also an incomplete sentence in formal writing, and punctuation is inconsistent, particularly around sentence boundaries. Review agreement, complete verb phrases, and sentence punctuation. Breaking up the longer sentences would also help you control grammar while retaining a useful range of structures.
