Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify a course in digital technology, request financial and time support, and give some reasons it could benefit the company, so the main task points are recognisable. However, the response addresses them only partially: the course is not described beyond its subject, and the requested “six month leave” is not explained or linked to the course schedule. The benefits—improving the company’s finances, documenting data, and using social networks—are asserted but not developed with clear examples. The letter is also 31 words below the required minimum, leaving little room to explain these points. To strengthen the response, specify the course content and duration, make a clear and reasonable request for support, and explain exactly how the skills would improve your work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The ideas are presented in a broadly understandable order: you introduce the course, ask for support, and then mention possible benefits. The closing also makes the letter format clear. However, the response has little paragraphing or signposting, and the progression between points is abrupt. For example, “I will like you to give me a school loan, six month leave and increase my salary” combines several requests without explaining how they relate; the next sentence repeats the loan point. The shift from company finances to documenting data and social networks is also not clearly connected. Use separate paragraphs for the course and request, then for its workplace benefits, and add linking phrases that show cause and effect.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “vocational course,” “digital technology,” “school fees,” and “documented.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the subject and intended benefits. However, the range is limited, and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which can make the message harder to interpret. “Compliment Sir” does not work as an opening, while “add an advantage to the company” and “the financial aspect” are vague or awkward choices. “Social network” would be clearer as “social media platforms” in this context. Aim for precise workplace and training vocabulary, and choose natural collocations to explain the course’s practical value rather than relying on broad claims.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter uses mostly short, simple statements, with a few attempts to connect ideas, such as “This digital technology will improve the financial aspect of the company and it boosts…” Meaning is generally recoverable, but errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “I will like” instead of “I would like,” “if i finish it” with an incorrectly capitalised pronoun and an unclear tense choice, and “six month leave,” which needs a plural form. The sentence beginning “I will take loan” also needs an article. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, as in “technology”.The” and “leaveand.” Practise accurate request forms, articles, plurals, and sentence punctuation before adding more complex structures.
