Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you describe a one-week virtual course on financial records and transactions, request company support, and explain how the training could improve your work. The practical benefits—greater accuracy and completing transactions more quickly—are relevant. However, the support request is not fully clear: “approve on week vacation” does not explain whether you need paid leave, time away from work, or another arrangement, and the employee discount request is not developed. The course description could also be more specific about its content. Clarify exactly what assistance you need and give a fuller explanation of how the course will benefit the company as well as you personally.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a generally sensible sequence: you introduce your request, describe the course, ask for support, and then explain its workplace benefits. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points, and the closing is appropriate. However, the support paragraph is interrupted by “I also” and then left unfinished, which disrupts the progression and makes the request feel incomplete. Some linking is also repetitive, particularly the repeated “I would appreciate” and the repeated references to the course. Complete the unfinished sentence, group the course details and support requests more cleanly, and use a wider range of natural links to show how the training leads to the stated benefits.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant workplace vocabulary, including “financial records,” “transactions,” “productivity,” and “financial management concepts,” so the reader can understand the subject and intended benefits. There are, however, noticeable spelling errors in key terms, such as “fianance,” “advertisment,” “attand,” and “traning,” which reduce accuracy. Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “approve on week vacation” and “utilise surplus my time.” Choose more standard collocations and check spelling carefully, especially for repeated topic words. More precise language for the company’s support and the course content would make the letter sound more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, for example, “By attending this training course, I can manage…” and “I would be able to maintain…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and naturalness. In “I would appreciate it, if,” the comma is unnecessary, and “I would appreciate, if” omits the required object. “I am working in finance department” needs an article, while “approve on week vacation” has an incorrect grammatical pattern. The unfinished “I also” is another sentence-level problem. Review articles, verb patterns after “approve,” and punctuation around conditional clauses, then proofread each sentence for completeness.
