You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you regarding a training course that I am interested in as it will be help me to improve my skills in the current job.

Recently, I saw an advertisement about a data analysis course that aims to use AI for more efficient and robust calculations. I am very much interested in registering for the course as it will help me learn new techniques and improve my skills.

The cost of the course is $ 500 which is out of my budget. I would appreciate if the company could help me with the fees, if not fully atleast partially.

As an international company, we deal with large data sets on a daily basis. This requires fast and well-maintained computer systems. Through this course, I will be able to learn to work on large data-sets through AI, which is mainly less time-consuming and more effective. Hence, saving more time and energy that could be invested in other tasks.

I am hoping for a positive response,

Yours faithfully,

Shazia Bibi

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you identify an AI-focused data analysis course, ask the company to contribute to its $500 fee, and explain how the training could help with large datasets. The purpose of the letter is clear and the ideas are relevant. However, the course description remains fairly general, and the explanation of workplace benefits is more developed than the request for support. For example, you could specify the course duration or particular skills it teaches, and explain whether you are seeking full or partial funding and how this would benefit the company. The opening also differs from the required “Dear Sir or Madam,” and the closing could be made more formally consistent with the salutation. Developing these details would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces your request, describes the course, discusses its cost, and then explains its relevance to your work. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “Recently,” “Through this course,” and “Hence” make relationships between ideas visible. This coherent progression is a strength. Some connections are a little mechanical, however, and the final sentence beginning “Hence” is a fragment rather than a fully integrated continuation. The transition from the course’s general benefits to the company’s data needs could also be smoother. To strengthen cohesion further, connect the funding request directly to the expected workplace gains and use a complete sentence to conclude the benefits paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “data analysis,” “efficient,” “robust calculations,” and “large data sets,” so the reader can understand the course and its workplace relevance. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “less time-consuming.” However, some word choices and collocations are awkward or imprecise: “help me to improve my skills in the current job” and “learn to work on large data-sets through AI” do not sound fully natural. “Fast and well-maintained computer systems” is also not clearly connected to the course’s stated focus. Check spelling and spacing in “atleast” and “data-sets,” and avoid repeating “improve my skills.” More precise phrases for funding and applying analytical techniques would make the vocabulary more flexible and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple sentences and more developed structures, including the relative clause “that aims to use AI” and the conditional request “if not fully, at least partially.” Most of the message remains understandable, and errors do not generally obscure your meaning. Some grammatical problems are noticeable, though. In “it will be help me,” the verb form should be “it will help me”; “I would appreciate if” needs “it” after “appreciate”; and “Hence, saving more time and energy” is a sentence fragment. The phrase “as it will help me learn new techniques and improve my skills” is a useful structure, but greater accuracy across verb forms and complete sentences is needed. Proofread each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb.
