Dear Sam,

I am writing in connection with the recent advertisement for a training course that was posted on our company's Canvas.

As you know in today's world self-development course is so much beneficial for an individual to enhance his personality and boost his morale confidence, this not only helps the person to focus more towards his work but also helps them to make the over-all personality more alinged towards the work.

To give you more details, this course will not only help me to focus more toward's my work but will also help me to develop my overall personality.

Therefore, I kindly request you to look into this matter and help me how to register in this course.

Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.

Regards,

Amrit

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The letter identifies the advertised self-development course and gives a general reason for wanting to attend, so it is relevant to the situation. However, it only minimally addresses the required points. The course is not described in practical terms, such as its content, duration, or format; the request for help is limited to “help me how to register”; and the claimed benefit to your job remains broad, with no link to specific duties or workplace outcomes. The repeated point about improving your personality does not develop these missing details. To make the purpose clear and complete, explain what the course teaches, specify what support you need from the company, and show how you would apply the learning in your role.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable letter structure, with an opening, a central explanation, a request, and a closing. Phrases such as “To give you more details” and “Therefore” signal relationships between ideas. However, the progression is limited: the second paragraph repeats the claim that the course will improve focus and personality rather than adding new information, and the three task points are not clearly separated or developed. The opening also shifts from addressing “Sam” to the more formal “your kind attention,” creating some inconsistency in the relationship with the reader. Organise the body around the course, the support requested, and the job-related benefits, using a separate paragraph for each where useful.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to professional development, including “self-development course,” “register,” and “enhance.” There is also an attempt to use more formal expressions, such as “I kindly request.” However, several choices are awkward or imprecise, including “bring your kind attention on to,” “boost his morale confidence,” and “make the over-all personality more alinged towards the work.” Spelling and form errors such as “alinged” and “over-all” also reduce accuracy. The repeated use of “help” and “course” limits variety. Aim for natural workplace collocations and precise terms—for example, describe the course’s skills or modules and refer to how they would improve your work performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter includes both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, particularly the sentence beginning “As you know in today's world,” which uses a contrastive construction with “not only … but also.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but control becomes less reliable in longer sentences. For example, “This is Amrit ,I would like to bring…” joins two clauses incorrectly, while “help me how to register” uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. The long sentence about the course also has unclear pronoun reference and punctuation problems. Use shorter, well-controlled sentences when explaining the course and its benefits, and check clause boundaries, commas, and patterns such as “help me to register” or “show me how to register.”
