Student answer (Band 6.0)
When you visit any country or walking in a park or even when you go shopping in a mall , you see that every human being that your eyes catch, is different and not just their races but their style and personalities too. Same people say that every human being is unique and you can tell so much about their culture and character by judging their appearance or just the choise of their clothes and to be honest i do agree.
First of all ,every country has their own traditional clothes that if you see someone in the street wearing this kind of clothes you immidiately recognise the county that they come from, even if they immigrate somewhere else they still do not cheat their tradition or religion. The best example for that are people from India, you can see and recognise from miles away their beautiful and colorful clothes that make them stand in a crowd.
In addition to that some try to express their personality based in the colours they wear or the style they chose. Hippies love pattern and confortable oversize clothes mostly in nude or earthy colours. They also love braids and long hair in this way they express their free spirit and their love for earth .
Moreover, some try to show so much about themself ,their beliefs and their religion by chosing their clothes. As i was visiting egypt last summer ,while walking around the resort i saw many women that had wear hijab , in was their way of expressing their dedication towards allah and their muslim religion .
On the other hand the way of dressing can lead to into a quick judgement. For example ones that wear black outfits mixed with metal style may give you the wrong impression as they may seem dark, harsh, and moddy but some can be total opposite kind and possitive.
In conclusion even though style and clothes can show a person's personality it is better not to judge a book by its cover and try to learn more about someone's character before making any wrong impressions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that clothing can reveal culture and character, while recognising that appearance can also lead to mistaken assumptions. The examples of traditional Indian clothing, hippie style and hijab are relevant and help address both sides of the question. The conclusion reinforces your balanced view. However, some points are asserted more than explained: for instance, the Indian clothing example identifies a cultural association but does not explore how reliably clothing reveals an individual’s background. The resort anecdote is also brief, and its link to character is less clear than its link to religious identity. Develop these examples by explaining their limits and distinguishing cultural signals from assumptions about a person. This would make the response’s ideas more consistently extended and supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “In addition to that” and “On the other hand” make the progression easy to follow, and each paragraph generally has a clear focus. The contrast between what clothing may communicate and the risk of judging someone too quickly is especially useful. At times, however, linking feels mechanical because several paragraphs begin with formulaic transitions. Some references are also unclear, such as “this kind of clothes” and “ones that wear black outfits,” which makes the reader pause to identify the intended group. Use more precise references and connect examples to the main claim within each paragraph, rather than relying mainly on transition phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for discussing clothing, identity and belief, including “traditional clothes,” “free spirit,” “dedication” and “wrong impression.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some descriptive language, such as “colorful clothes” and “earthy colours,” gives the examples detail. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “choise,” “immidiately,” “confortable” and “moddy” should be corrected, while “cheat their tradition” is not a natural expression in this context. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “based in the colours” and “show so much about themself.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for expressing identity, beliefs and cultural traditions. This would make the vocabulary more controlled and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “even if,” “while” and “as,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation remain. The opening, “When you visit any country or walking in a park,” combines incompatible verb forms; “women that had wear hijab” also has an incorrect verb construction. In “every country has their own traditional clothes,” the pronoun does not agree with the singular subject. Commas are frequently separated from the preceding word, and some sentences run together, particularly in the introduction. Review clause construction and past-tense forms, and proofread punctuation and agreement. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
