Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this era of modern epoch, clothing plays a very vital role in everyone's life. Some individuals believe that it is possible to tell about someone's culture and character from what they are wearing. However, i totally disagree with this viewpoint. This essay will shed light on the reason that why dressing does not reflects ones personality and nature.
To begin with, people mostly dress according to their comfort level. Nowadays, individuals like to wear clothes that not only make them feel comfortable but also give them confidence. For example, many adults like to wear T-Shirts, hoodies, and trousers in which they feel comfortabl rather than putting tight jeans or tops. Wearing clothes that someone like does not make them rude or arrogant. Therefore, judging person with their dressing sence could be misleading.
Moreover, financial circumstances does not influance someones character. Many people cannot afford expensive clothes and like to wear simple clothes. For instance, individuals not wearing branded clothes could be more educated, successful and respectful towards other compared to other wearing highly expensive dressed. Furthermore, dressing up does not make someone a person with good culture and character.
In conclusion, I completely disagree that person's culture and character can be judged accurately by their choice of clothes. Moral values, such as, respecting elders, discipline and cleaniness comes from heart not with expensive dresses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I totally disagree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including comfort and the fact that clothing costs do not determine a person’s character, and the examples of casual wear and non-branded clothes help illustrate these points. However, the ideas are not developed equally: the comfort paragraph explains its point more clearly, while the financial paragraph makes broad claims about education and respect without explaining or illustrating them in depth. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is limited space to develop your reasoning and include a fuller example. Explain more precisely why clothing choices may reflect circumstances or preference rather than personality or culture.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples are placed alongside the points they support. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, the linking is somewhat formulaic, and the final sentence of the second body paragraph—“Furthermore, dressing up does not make someone a person with good culture and character”—repeats the central claim rather than extending the financial argument. Develop each paragraph through a clearer explanation and use references such as “this” or “such choices” to connect ideas more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “comfort level,” “financial circumstances,” “branded clothes,” and “moral values,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “judging a person” and “viewpoint.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “modern epoch” is unnatural in this context, “feel comfortabl” is misspelled, and “dressing sence” and “cleaniness” contain spelling errors. Phrases such as “expensive dressed” and “does not reflects ones personality” are also awkward or inaccurate. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your argument sound more fluent and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including “clothes that not only make them feel comfortable but also give them confidence.” The overall meaning is usually clear, and the response includes a range of sentence purposes rather than relying entirely on short statements. Some grammatical errors remain, however. For example, “dressing does not reflects” has incorrect subject–verb form, while “financial circumstances does not” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles and possessives in “judging person” and “ones personality,” and the comma after “such as” in “Moral values, such as, respecting elders” is misplaced. Review agreement, articles, possessives, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for accuracy.
