Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is often said that a lot of thing can be identified and understood such as culture and character about a person, just by looking at their clothes. I completely agree with this point of view.
The primary reason for supporting this thinking is that, different cultures have varied clothing pattern such as signature clothing style, jewelries , and accessories. To understand, most of the people love to show to other people that to what group or a religion or a tribe or country they belong, this is why the add some symbolic style add to their clothing. For example, my colleague wears a symbolic cap of his tribe almost everyday which tells that he is proud of belonging to group.
The another compelling reason is that clothing sense appeared in your wearing does tell a lot about you before you even speak. To exemplify, when a person wear clean, ironed, good fitted, and trendy clothes at any event or on a daily basis, which gets knowingly and unknowingly easily noted by others. To illustrate, based on studies done in Canada, tells that a person wearing nicer clothes on a daily basis gets more respected than others. This clearly explain that people understand and judge from their clothes. This is also very expected that a good character and confident person would always prefer to have clean, attractive and tidy clothes, whereas, a low self-esteem would choose more generalize outfits.
To conclude, I believe that a lot of things such as culture, and character can be learned about person from their clothing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the discussion of cultural identity through traditional attire and the social perception of personal grooming. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the link between clothing and 'character' is asserted rather than deeply explored, and the example regarding Canadian studies is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis or specific, well-explained examples that fully support your arguments. The conclusion is a bit brief and could have better summarised the main points to reinforce your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'The primary reason', 'The another compelling reason', and 'To exemplify', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or grammatically awkward, such as 'The another compelling reason' (should be 'Another compelling reason'). Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to create a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'symbolic style', 'compelling', and 'self-esteem'. There are some instances of imprecise word choice or awkward collocations, such as 'clothing pattern' instead of 'styles of dress' and 'more generalize outfits' instead of 'more generic outfits'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word formation, such as 'jewelries' (jewelry is uncountable) and 'good fitted' (well-fitted). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the vocabulary from being considered 'flexible' or 'precise' at a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a lot of thing', 'the add some symbolic style'), subject-verb agreement ('this clearly explain'), and sentence construction ('based on studies done in Canada, tells that...'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma usage. The errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent the meaning from being understood. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
