Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is a part of society who can easily realise the person's culture and character with the help of clothes they are wearing. On the other hand, others are unable to judge the above mentioned. I personally disagree with the above statement as for me it is very hard to discover a personality of an individual from their clothes. I will explain the reasons of my point of view in the following paragraphs before concluding the statement.
First of all, clothes are meant to wear and cover the body, it does not depict anything which anyone is having in their mind. For example, schools which have strict rule of wearing uniform for both teachers and students. No one can imagine or recognise the religion, culture, or personality by looking at their face only. It is impossible to tell.
Moreover, I do not believe, other than astrologers and mind readers, if there is anyone who is proficient in reading people's mind by looking at outfit. There are numerous of population who have double personality. They react by seeing the person standing in front of them. I think, no one can judge them.
In contrary, there is a possibility of understanding the culture of some individuals with their attire. For instance, if an Indian is seen in long kurta with trouser and an Indian lady in Saree. They are easily recognisable as Indians. However, people from other communities can also wear the Indian attire, but in that case, it is again hard to check if they look like Indian people that they are not Indians.
To conclude, to observe the person's character and culture, in my view, one should be perfectionist in mind reading and astronomy. Otherwise, it is difficult to tell the background of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding school uniforms is a good starting point but lacks depth in explaining why this specifically prevents character assessment. The mention of 'astrologers and mind readers' is slightly tangential and detracts from the academic tone required for an IELTS essay. To reach a higher band, you should focus on providing more nuanced, real-world examples that directly support your stance on how culture and character are expressed through non-verbal cues beyond just clothing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'In contrary' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between 'astronomy' and character assessment is confusing. The use of 'In contrary' is also a slight misuse of the phrase, which should be 'On the contrary'. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary to communicate your ideas, such as 'proficient', 'depict', and 'attire'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'numerous of population' (should be 'a large portion of the population') and 'perfectionist in mind reading' (should be 'expert at'). Additionally, the confusion between 'astronomy' (the study of stars) and 'astrology' (the belief in stars influencing personality) significantly impacts the precision of your argument. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic collocations would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'clothes are meant to wear' (should be 'meant to be worn'), 'there is a part of society who can' (should be 'there is a segment of society that can'), and 'the person's character' (should be 'a person's character'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but some sentences are slightly fragmented or lack necessary articles. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice constructions.
