Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that Some people say that it is possible to tell a lot about a person’s culture and character from their choice of clothes. Although I agree with this view to a certain extent, I belive that choice of clothes are not decide person's personality and cluture.

To begin with, the foremost reason why I agree with this statement is that some person's are wear mordern clothes that is their culture decided. For example, Traditional dresses wearing in our indian cluture. In rajsthan each and evry women's wear their rajsthani dresses. Consequently is that seens their culture.

Furthermore, I believe that there are not same choice for all people. The clothes are wearing in people own choice. Clother's are not given person's personality and culture. Don't Judge a book by it's cover. For instance, In Indian girl's wear bengoli saree that doesn't mean they character are not good and some people's financial condition are not good so that deson't mean they are characterless.

In conclusion, after taking all the aforementioned points into consideration, I firmaly agree to choice of clothes give person's cluture but don't judge thier character.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 191 words. This significantly limits the development of your ideas. While you attempt to address the prompt by discussing culture and character, the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. Your position is somewhat contradictory; you state you agree with the view, then say you disagree, and finally conclude by agreeing only partially. To improve, you must expand your points with more detailed explanations and ensure your stance remains consistent throughout the essay. The lack of depth and the failure to meet the length requirement prevent a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often unclear due to grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Consequently is that seens their culture' is difficult to follow. To improve, focus on using linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows logically into the next. Improving sentence structure will also help the overall flow of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'choice of clothes are not decide' and 'some person's are wear'. You also struggle with word forms, such as using 'cluture' instead of 'culture' and 'deson't' instead of 'doesn't'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms related to the topic of fashion, identity, and social perception. Focus on learning the correct collocations and practicing spelling to avoid these frequent errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'choice of clothes are not decide'), incorrect verb tenses, and misuse of articles and plurals (e.g., 'some person's are wear', 'each and evry women's'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors that obscure the intended meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs. Proofreading for common errors like 'it's' versus 'its' will also be beneficial.
