Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely believed that a person's preference of wearing clothes can depicts their backgrounds as well as personality. I agree with the statement.
The main reason why a person could be judged by the way he or she dresses up is tradition. Many people belong to different nationalities which make they different from others as they wear totally different types of clothes and jwellery. By wearing different attires, people not only represents their country and culture but people can also make some guesses about their lifestyle. As a result, people often get judged by they way how they look.
Many worriers belong to a certain community which also show others that what type of behaviours their community's people can have. As in the past many people fought for the people who did not even belonged to their community, and they save life of others without any greed. People wearing army hats and turbans make others assume that they have the qualities which are the reason of having those on their heads. So people put impact upon others in the way thay look in society.
I believe, clothes prefered by people have great impact on others as people have an idea of the background after having a look on them. A person who is responsible and mature enough will always look like a gentleman as he knows what he is representing. However, sometimes people often misjudge others just because of their dirty clothes as it could be due to their work.
In conclusion, although judging people by their selection of wearing clothes is bad, all the times clothes show to others a good tradition, cultural values and their positive nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the link between clothing and cultural identity or professional roles. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the paragraph regarding 'worriers' (likely meaning warriors) is slightly confusing and lacks a clear connection to the broader argument about character. While the response covers the requirements, the supporting examples could be more specific and better integrated to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the stance, though it introduces a slight contradiction by suggesting that judging people is 'bad' while simultaneously arguing that clothes reveal positive traits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'So people put impact upon others'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved with more varied linking words. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks the sophistication required for a higher band, as some sentences feel disjointed from the main point of the paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'attires', 'cultural values', and 'nationalities'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'preference of wearing clothes can depicts' (should be 'preference in clothing can depict') and 'put impact upon others'. The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but the lack of precision and occasional misuse of words prevents a higher score. More variety and more accurate collocations would enhance the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while they do not impede communication, are noticeable. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('clothes... can depicts'), incorrect verb forms ('did not even belonged'), and awkward phrasing ('by they way how they look'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that affect the overall accuracy. To improve, the student should focus on basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed without errors in tense or word order.
