Student answer (Band 6.0)
These days, few individuals are saying that It has become possible to tell a lot about other person's character and culture from their clothing style. I particially agree with this statement and I will explain this in the upcoming paragraphs.
First and foremost, every culture has their own different clothes, which leads to represent their tradition by showing ritual values. For example, In India, each state has their own traditional style of clothes, which makes them distinct from other states; such as in Punjab, women wears Punjabi suits and men wears kurta pajama. It leads to give them an identity of being Punjabi. Same in other states. Moreover, number of people have the ability to know the other person's character by the clothing style because individual with high preferences of modern clothes consider as a confident and intelligent as compare to other who give priority to wear simple clothes.
On the other hand, in the modernized era, majority of people prefer to wear formal suits, which includes coat- paint, jeans, top. As a result, everyone looks same so it's hard to tell about someone's culture and character from their choice of clothes. In overseas countries, For example, everyone give priority to wear more t-shirts and pajamas as compare to their traditional clothes as these clothes are very comfortable to wear. Therefore, nobody can not tell about person in detail after looking just their clothes.
To conclude, I believe that although somehow person's character and culture could be identified from their clothes, which includes their traditional clothes, but it's impossible to tell a lot about someone from their clothing sense.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the cultural and character-related aspects of clothing. You have a clear position, although the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding character is quite brief and relies on a generalization that modern clothes equate to confidence. While you cover both sides of the argument, the explanation of why it is 'impossible' to tell a lot about someone is a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more thoroughly explained and linked back to the core question of whether clothing is a reliable indicator of identity.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'First and foremost', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to transition between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing. For example, the sentence 'Same in other states' is a sentence fragment that lacks proper connection to the previous point. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the last will strengthen the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'clothes' and 'wear' repeatedly. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'high preferences of modern clothes' and 'coat-paint' (likely referring to a suit). While your meaning is clear, the lack of more sophisticated or varied vocabulary limits your score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to fashion, cultural identity, and personality traits to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('women wears', 'everyone give priority') and incorrect article usage. There are also some awkward sentence constructions, such as 'nobody can not tell', which is a double negative. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by these errors. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and avoiding double negatives, will significantly improve your writing.
