Student answer (Band 5.5)

This is commenced a discussion where a few individuals believe that it is easy to know the people personality, behaviour and culture from their clothes; however, I firmly against with this motif. My inclination explain in ensuing write-up.

Commencing upon the foremost reason is that to many poor people have limited money to manage their expense. They prefer to not to spent money on clothes. However, they are doing well in their career but, the many humans says it is waste of money to spent on clothing or parties. For example, in a newspaper it has been stated that one daughter who did great in her higher education. She came first in her state with higher school. But everyone surprised with her father's profession. Her father was rickshaw driver. Around 50% students or people did great in their life go for the career they are belongs from the middle class families.

On the contrary, some people think that clothes presents their culture and character. They have their own reasons. Firstly, if people have good personality shows wearing their wealthiness, so many other people would like to talk with them. Nowadays, many youngsters make a rich friendly only who spent a lot of money in parties, other accessories like watch, mobile phone and shoes. And, however, it become a trend too. Young children is watching too much reels and follow their favourite actor. Secondly, many people think that wearing good qualities clothes presents your personality. If you are present in front of many people so it's better that you have good taste in clothes. So, listeners may like to listen you and be motivate also by you.

To recapitulate, nonetheless, wearing different clothes present your culture and choice. But, it is more important to don't judge people by their clothes and personality. Always, believe in their work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that clothes reveal character. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The first body paragraph attempts to use an example about a rickshaw driver's daughter, but the connection to the prompt is weak and the logic is difficult to follow. The second body paragraph discusses the opposing view but lacks a strong, cohesive argument, relying on generalizations about 'youngsters' and 'reels'. While the task is addressed, the supporting evidence is often tangential or poorly explained, limiting the depth of the response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'On the contrary', 'To recapitulate'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically, such as starting a sentence with 'And, however,'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow of the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear, logical sequence, which hinders the overall coherence of the piece.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'commenced a discussion', 'against with this motif', and 'rich friendly'. The student attempts to use more complex vocabulary, but these attempts often result in errors that impede clarity. Basic vocabulary is used throughout, and there is little evidence of the ability to use less common lexical items with precision or awareness of style. The range is just sufficient to convey the basic meaning, but it lacks the flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often affect readability. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many humans says', 'Young children is watching'), article usage, and sentence structure. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are frequently faulty, leading to confusion. Simple sentences are generally more accurate, but the overall control of grammar is weak. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the response in the lower band range.
