Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era, many individuals believe that they can judge a person’s character and from where they belongs to by their outfits. I totally disagree with this statement because nowadays people prefer different styles of cloths to show their unique personality.
The primary reason behind this is different cultures has a variety of outfits. For example, In abroad citizens started to celebrate others festivals because they wanna try something different from their daily life. As a result, nobody can judge them where are they belongs to and what is their character. In addition to that, it shows their interest in their culture as well as respect they show while they celebrate the culture. However, celebrating others festivals can not describe their own character because some do for fun whereas others do to know value and history of that festival.
In contrast, crime rate is also related to that because people often wear good cloths too show their personality but inside that they have a criminal mind because nobody can think that a good look person can do a crime or thief. To examplify this, in the market most of the time thief’s are walk around in good personality so everyone can trust them. As a consequence of that not only they can easily steal things but also sometimes they try to manipulate children to kidnap them.
In a nutshell, person can not judge other person from their cloths because sometimes behind a charming face their are hidden criminals who often show their real character after their act done.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples, such as the mention of festivals and the criminal argument, the reasoning is occasionally superficial or lacks logical depth. For instance, the argument regarding criminals wearing 'good clothes' is a bit simplistic and could be better articulated to show how it directly refutes the idea that clothes reflect character. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more thoroughly explained and directly linked to the core question of whether clothes can truly reveal character.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In contrast', 'In addition to that', and 'In a nutshell', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between celebrating festivals and the inability to judge character feels slightly disjointed. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words would help elevate the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'cloths' instead of 'clothes', 'In abroad' instead of 'abroad', and 'thief's are walk around'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of your argument. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you are using the correct forms of words (e.g., nouns vs. adjectives). Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated, topic-specific terms would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'different cultures has', 'thief's are walk'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to be distracting. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb forms before moving on to more complex structures.
