Student answer (Band 5.5)

Undeniably, inhabitants in distinctive nations prefer to wear clothes which are related to their traditions and background where they are come from. However, I disagree with this statement as it is not completely described the personality or character of someone's by clothes. There are numerous reasons behind this notion which i will elucidate in henceforth.

On the one hand, First and the foremost reason is that individual related to different backgrounds like to wear clothes which are related with their cultural and moral values. In India inhabitants wear Salwar Kameej, Kurta Pajama, Saree whereas in the overseas nations people wear western clothes such as Jeans top and so on. But the clothes does not described their character and personality

Secondly, Workers wear dress at workplace. Inhabitants wear formal clothes for the office hours which give them confident and professional expression but does not describe their personality but only give the identity of employees.

On the flip side, Judging someone by their outfit styles it can be a misleading. Because people wear clothes according to the workplace or weather conditions, financial conditions and special events. If people do not wear expensive or branded clothes it does not mean that they are not ambitious or less confident. Even I have experienced that individual who wear simple outfits they feel more comfortable, friendly and hard working it does not mean that their level is low as compare to others.

To recapitulate, Although inhabitants know by their clothing styles where they come from and what is their cultural values and beliefs while it is not a reliable way to completely described the behaviour and personality of others.

clothes describe peoples culture and background where they come from

jeans top describe foreign culture

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that clothing defines character. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention cultural attire and workplace dress codes, the arguments remain at a surface level. For instance, the point about workplace attire is mentioned twice without adding new insight. To improve, you should focus on providing more nuanced examples or exploring the psychological aspect of why people choose certain clothes, rather than just listing examples of clothing types. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'On the one hand' is used, but the corresponding 'On the other hand' is replaced by 'On the flip side', which feels slightly informal. Some transitions are awkward, such as 'which i will elucidate in henceforth'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the ideas progress more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'inhabitants in distinctive nations' (instead of 'different countries') and 'does not described' (grammatical error affecting lexical accuracy). You rely on basic vocabulary like 'clothes' and 'personality' repeatedly. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and topic-specific collocations, such as 'attire', 'socio-economic status', 'superficial judgment', or 'cultural identity'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('clothes does not described', 'individual who wear'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when you attempt complex forms. For example, 'it is not completely described the personality' should be 'it does not completely describe the personality'. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your verb forms are consistent. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy is essential for a higher score.
