Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 81 words. Consequently, the task is addressed only minimally. The ideas presented are underdeveloped, and the response lacks the necessary depth, supporting arguments, and examples required for a Task 2 essay. While a position is stated, it is not supported by a coherent argument or sufficient detail. To improve, you must expand your response significantly by providing clear topic sentences, detailed explanations, and relevant examples for each point.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The essay is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to structure the response with an introduction and a body paragraph, the lack of length prevents the development of a cohesive argument. Cohesive devices are largely absent, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraph is abrupt. To achieve a higher score, you need to ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that ideas are linked using a variety of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'like' and 'clothes'. There is little evidence of a range of vocabulary that would allow for precise expression. Phrases like 'According to me' are non-standard, and the word choice is generally simplistic. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to culture, identity, and fashion, and work on using collocations more accurately to express your ideas with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains several grammatical errors that impede clarity, such as 'from which culture he or she is belongs to' and 'I am disagree'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are often simple or contain errors in word order and verb forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions. Once you have a solid foundation, begin practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses and conditional sentences.
