Student answer (Band 5.5)

In global world, culture plays integral role in every country as well as state. Today it become controversial debate all around the world. Some individuals think that we can judge people's character and culture from their clothes choice but others denying this notion they have reasons behind this. I also disagree with this statement I give my reasons with rational points in upcoming paragraphs.

To start with reasons, the first and foremost reason behind is that people does not judged to someone by their clothes because most of the time. people not wearing cultural clothes they are wearing some formal or comfortable clothes on daily basis. If they wear culture cloth it does not mean they are represent that culture. For instance: our one employee who are belong other culture like Sikh culture but on our function he w dressed up in Gujrati style. Therefore, no one can be judged by clothes.

Probing ahead, clothes not show someone's character because sometime people have modern thought but they are wear traditional clothes because they are valued of citizens and their parents morals. So many times people wear brand suit but they have zero value about their culture. In modern era, individuals carrying each others culture they are give respect to people than clothes, Hence, person's character reflected by their behavior than clothes.

To replicated, although people think they can judge individual's character by their clothes, but no one can judge person's culture and character by clothes. I strongly denying this notion because people always showing their character by their nature how they talk as well as behave with others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that clothing reflects character or culture. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you provide examples, such as the employee wearing Gujarati clothing, the explanation remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments. For instance, you could discuss the influence of global fashion trends or the distinction between personal style and cultural identity in greater depth. The conclusion is a bit redundant, merely restating the introduction rather than synthesising the main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To start with reasons' and 'Probing ahead' feel unnatural. Additionally, there are issues with referencing and logical flow; for example, the transition between the idea of 'modern thoughts' and 'traditional clothes' in the third paragraph is abrupt. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional awkward phrasing impacts the overall flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'clothes', 'culture', and 'character' repeatedly. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'culture cloth' instead of 'traditional attire' or 'cultural garments', and 'valued of citizens' which is unclear. While your meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and occasional misuse of words limit your score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more precise academic vocabulary related to social identity and fashion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people does not judged', 'employee who are belong'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses ('he w dressed up'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and full stops. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic agreement errors would be highly beneficial.
