Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is crystel clear that there are hundreds of cultures and religions on earth, and every culture follow their own unique dressing. which makes diversity all over the world. However, if we say that we can judge others by their clothing and culture so than sorry it is totally wrong. I am disagree with this statement.

On the one hand, we can see others in their traditional cloths, which can be a different experience for us. It is human nature to make guess regarding his or her back-ground. we can tell about few of the famous culture which are spread worldwide, like some parts of south Asia and The arb areas. Moreover, if we are saying this we can tell about their character, so no it is not possible without communicating with those people. For example, India there are 29 states and each state has their own culture and dressing type ,even their own language if someone come to visit or explore India so they can judge them by cloths.

On the other hand, nowadays all over the world follow same dressing trend of West countries however, it does not mean that they forget their culture. If i talking about Canada and US so in these countries every country's people are living but they all carry same dressing sense, so we can't talk about their culture and character.

In my opinion, i believe that without talking with someone and knowing them. We can't say any thing about their Character. That's why i am totally disagree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that clothing does not define character, the supporting arguments, such as the example of India or the mention of Western trends in Canada, are not fully explained or linked back to the core argument effectively. The reasoning remains a bit superficial, and the connection between 'culture' and 'character' is not explored in depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of why your chosen examples support your overall stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'so than sorry' and 'if someone come to visit' are awkward transitions that disrupt the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between the example of India and the argument about judging character is disjointed. While there is an overall progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the essay feel somewhat repetitive and disjointed in places.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'crystel' instead of 'crystal' and 'arb' instead of 'Arab'. You rely on basic vocabulary like 'good', 'bad', or 'famous', and there is a lack of less common lexical items. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'dressing type' instead of 'style of dress'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct spelling of basic terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every culture follow', 'someone come') and punctuation (e.g., missing commas, incorrect capitalization) are present throughout the text. Additionally, there are issues with sentence fragments and run-on sentences, such as 'If i talking about Canada and US so in these countries every country's people are living but they all carry same dressing sense'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message.
