Student answer (Band 6.0)

People often discuss that a person culture or character can be predictable

from the type of clothes that he mostly wears. Some believe it is possible as it reflects a person's personality, however others claim that choice of apparel does not have much to reveal.I consider clothing is more regarded as personal interest and give very little exposure about someone's attitude.

On the one hand few individuals assert that those who wear identical clothes generally possess the same type of behaviour and habitats. The reason is that they have similar type of understanding and knowledge owing to living in a same type of environment. For example, it is easy to recognise an Indian or middle east person from a crowd because of their unique clothes. However it is not always countable as people characters are different even they share same values and beliefs.

On the other side many as me opine that globalisation has made it easier to travel and settle in any country where it is often seen people with different clothes have same personalities and thoughts. This shows that clothes can provide surface view about someone but true identity can be assessed only through the types of habitats and actions he make everday .For illustration, canada is a diverse country with people from different backgrounds wearing different outfits but all of them generally carry same spirit for work with kind behaviour.

In conclusion, it may be true in certain cases that person behaviour reflects through outer appearance particularly sharing the same living regions.Overall it is the personal choices ,type of exposure and priorities that effect more about character rather than temporary selection of clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that clothing is more about personal interest than character. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of cultural attire and the impact of globalization. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the example of Canada is a good start but lacks depth in explaining how 'spirit for work' is observed. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples with more specific details or logical reasoning to fully support your arguments. The position is consistent throughout the essay, which is a strength.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'On the other side', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between ideas could be smoother. For example, the transition between the cultural clothing point and the argument about character differences could be more fluid. Overall, the progression of ideas is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'globalisation', 'diverse', and 'apparel'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'habitats' (when you likely meant 'habits') and 'countable' (which is misused here). Additionally, there are minor errors in phrasing like 'give very little exposure about' (should be 'reveal little about'). To improve, focus on using words in their correct context and expanding your range of collocations to express your ideas with more precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'a person culture', 'the middle east person'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'actions he make everday'), and punctuation (missing spaces after commas). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'People often discuss that a person culture or character can be predictable'. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammar and punctuation would significantly improve your score.
