It is often observed that people tend to prefer clothes which resemble their religion, culture and tradition. Globally, there are numerous faiths and their associated belief systems; in order to display one's background and cultural diversity, people like to carry themselves in a certain way which tells the world about them, specially by dressing according to their traditional apparel. To exemplify, in some immigration friendly western countries, among all the diverse communities, one can easily differentiate the cultures by the people's attire. This gives people their distinct identities, thereby motivating them to adhere to their respective clothing.
Moreover, in this multi-cultural world, it is a proliferating tendency that people like to send a message via fashion and dressings. Different views are challenged by people preferring to dress that are properly stating their opinions and talk about their characters. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position and providing supporting arguments. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the points regarding cultural identity and personal character are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your examples with more specific details and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'To exemplify', and 'Therefore' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the final paragraph is quite short, which affects the balance of the essay structure. Ensure that each paragraph has a strong topic sentence and sufficient supporting evidence to improve the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proliferating', 'diverse communities', and 'apparel'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'what their believes are' (should be 'what their beliefs are') and 'dressing that are properly stating' (should be 'dressing that properly states'). Some phrasing is slightly awkward, which limits the precision of your expression. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary in a natural and accurate way, paying close attention to word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'it is evident by an individuals' choice' (should be 'individual's'), 'what their believes are' (should be 'beliefs'), and 'clothingit' (a spacing error). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement.
